Attention 8th grade baseball players. We will have a parent/player meeting for this years spring team on Sunday March 6 at 1:00 PM in the cafeteria. If your parents can not attend or you have questions please contact Coach Bowdle ASAP.
Tomorrow morning during homeroom 8th ambassadors will be meeting in the cafeteria.
The HS Boys Tournament game vs Eaton on Saturday will begin at 7:30, not 8:00 as announced last night at the game. Tickets are on sale in the High School Athletic Office for 6.00. Tickets at the gate are $7.00. If you purchase your tickets through the Athletic Office 50% of the revenue will stay at Urbana. Go climbers!
The Junior OMUN meeting scheduled for this Saturday has been changed to a new time. We will be meeting from 12:30 to 2, with those playing soccer leaving at 1:30.
Track practice starts on March 7th. Please turn your track paperwork in to Mrs. Poppel this week.
This week is spirit week. Tomorrow is Decades day – 70’s, 80’s, 90’s – what was your favorite style?

The talent show will be held March 6th at 2:00. Admittance to the talent show is $5.00

Baseball and softball sign ups are this Saturday from 10 to 2 at the Youth Sports building by the soccer fields at Melvin Miller Park. Cost is $35. Information sheets will be in the office after Wednesday.
Spring Soccer registration will be this Saturday from 10 to 2 at the Youth Sports building by the soccer fields at Melvin Miller Park. This is for 10 to 18 year olds to improve soccer skills by working with Urbana University soccer coaching staff and players. Cost is $75 for 6 weeks.

Starting this week, honor society will be selling 1.00 cards in the cafeteria for Relay for Life. This supports cancer victims with treatment, care and helping to find a cure. You will be able to purchase a card and write your name on it, and then we will display cards throughout the cafeteria. Show your support for a very worthy program.
Jr High cheerleading tryouts will be April 26, 27 and 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Informational packets are available in the office.
8th graders going to Washington, DC: If you have not turned in your Washington DC paperwork, you need to get it to the office by this Friday. If your paperwork is not turned in you may lose your spot!
The girls placed 2nd in the Champaign County meet to Mechanicsburg. Placing first were:Becca Poppel in the 100 meter Hurdles(new meet Record), 200 Hurdles and High Jump. Latasha Hines in the 100 meter dash, the 400 meter relay team of Tessa Mcmanamay, Kwyncie Purtee, Payton Moore, Latasha H. in second were;payton Moore in the 100 hurdles, Erika michael in the shot, Tori Quesenberry in Long Jump, Sara Trenor in Pole vault, Third place finishes were Landre Neer in the shot, Sara Trenor in the 800 and the 1600 Meter Relay Team of Purtee, Mcmanamay, Michelle Hendricks, Katelyn Grigg. In fourth was Katelynn Grigg in the High Jump, Samantha Byers in the 200 and Payton Moore in the 200 Hurdles. Braxton Rogan took 5th in the Long Jump, as did Brookelyn Russell in the Pole vault and Tori Quesenberry in the 100.
The boys placed second to West Liberty Salem. Winning for the Climbers were Dillon Knueven in the High Jump, Drake Frost in the Pole vault, Austin Curtis in the 1600. Second place finishers were Aaron reeves in the Long Jump, The 400 relay team of Jean paul Soto, Jaymen Neff-Strickland, , Drake Frost, Michael Laase,the 800 relay Team of Soto, Reeves, nathan mays, Knueven, Aaron Reeves in the 200 and the 1600 Realy team of Curtis, Frost, Tanner Nichols, Caleb Rogan. In third place was Austin Curtis in the Long Jump, Caleb Rogan in the 1600 and 800. In fourth was Michael Laase in the Pole vault and 100 and Charles Sidders in the 800. fifth place wasTanner Nichols in the Shot and Disc, Nathan Mays in the High Jump, Dillon Knueven in the 200.
There is a mandatory soccer meeting this Friday in the high school cafeteria for all students who are interested in playing high school soccer next year. The meeting will last around a half an hour and will be followed by an hour long lifting session and an hour long cross training session. Students wo can’t attend need to contact Coach Wells prior to Fridays meeting.
Yesterday and today’s HIP winners are: Justin Weller, Savanna Burcham, Barnaby Ofori, Daniel Shover, Courtney Peterson, Alayna McCreight, Clorissa Thompson and Gabby Thomas. Please come to the office for your prize.
