If you are interested in running for student council, stop by the office and pick up a packet. 

Remember to bring back your RSVP for the family picnic and open house.  The homeroom with the highest percentage of rsvps will win a prize!  The open house will be September 4th from 5:15 to 7:30. There will be a free dinner and then students will have a chance to show their parents around our school. 

The following students need a TDAP vaccine before September 13^th.  They are: (Come see the office if you are unsure)

The School Year Begins!

Another school year began at UJHS on Thursday Aug 23rd, 2012. The staff is very excited to be back at the JH for another great year and the students were ready to go right from the beginning.

Just a quick reminder that this blog will have all of the after school announcements posted here along with other announcements or information that will better help community members, parents, students or relatives of students with info about all things UJHS.

Nick Marino selected for Technology Position

Nick Marino was selected to take over 7th grade technology classes with the departure of Mr. Eric Lammers. Mr. Marino is a graduate of Urbana High School and currently serves on the UHS football coaching staff as defensive coordinator. We are very excited to welcome Nick Marino to the UJHS staff.

Katie Miller named new Guidance Counselor/ Volleyball coach

Katie Miller has joined the staff at Urbana Junior High School. Katie will be taking over as guidance counselor replacing Mrs. Julie Kurtz. Katie comes to the JH from Youngstown by way of East Lansing, MI. She attended and graduated from Kent State and played volleyball while attending KSU. In addition to her duties as guidance counselor she will also be coaching the 8th grade girls volleyball team. Stop by and see Mrs. Katie Miller and Go Climbers!

Urbana Junior High Announces new Principal

Urbana City Schools announces Joann Petty as principal of UJHS.

Mrs. Petty had been principal of Urbana Local school and prior to that a classroom teacher at East elementary.

Please make sure you welcome Mrs Joann Petty to the UJHS staff.

Summer news for UJHS

There are some official announcements to pass along about Urbana junior high. First after three years as principal of ujhs, Greg Stickel, has announced that he will be leaving the district to assume the leadership role at Northridge Middle school in Northeastern School district. We wish him the best in his new endevour.  Also leaving the UJHS/UHS staff after 3 years is computer teacher Rric Lammmers. Good luck mr. Lammers your students will miss you. Also leaving this past year was guidance counselor, Julie Kurtz. Mrs. Kurtz will be replaced by Katie.  Veteran teacher Hack Beard also retired from the U after helping the math students pass the OAA for the past two years. He will be replaced by Amanda Graf
