Hi Point Field Trip 8th grade only Feb 28, 2012

This is a reminder that the 8th grade class will be visiting Hi Point Career Center on Tuesday, February 28. We will be leaving around 8:30 am and we will return around 1:45 pm.

8th graders meet with HS Guidance to Schedule Classes

Nancy and Angela will be talking with 8th grade students about creating a 4-year plan for high school during PE/Tech next week...

8th grade scheduling HS classes for next year

Today, the 8th grade students received information about scheduling for next year as well as important information about high school/graduation requirements. They have pink scheduling forms to pick their classes for next year. If they have any questions, please feel free to send them my way. They were each given a "skinny booklet" of course information, but full booklets are available on the High School website, in my office, the main office, the library and in all 8th grade classrooms/homerooms (I have put them in mailboxes!!). Additionally, the high school guidance counselors will be talking with students in their PE/Tech classes next week to answer additional questions and to help students create 4 year plans.



 Mrs. Mays told the students to turn the signed pink papers in to their LA teachers no later than March 2. If you would please collect them and get them to me, I would appreciate it. It doesn't matter to me if you prefer to hold on to them until loser to the due date or if you prefer to get them off your desk each day!

Attention 8th grade students:  We will be going on a field trip to Hi Point Career Center on Tuesday.  Lunch will be at a fast food restaurant.  You will need to bring money to buy your lunch!

Tonight at 6:30 the athletic department will hold the mandatory OHSAA Spring Sport parent meeting.  This meeting will be for any parent whose child will be competing in a spring sport and has not attended an OHSAA meeting during the 11-12 school year.  Individual sports meetings will be held at 7:00 immediately after the OHSAA meeting except for JH track which will be held at a later date.  All parents should plan on attending the individual sports meeting.

Track practice starts March 12th at 3:00 in the junior high gym.  Everyone is invited to be on the track team, there are no try outs.  Track packets are available in the office.

If you are interested in being in the talent show, you need to see Mr OKane during lunch or homeroom.  The talent show will be March 11th.

JH students attending the high school home boys basketball game on Friday night are required to sit in the student section in the gym bleachers.  Students may only sit in the auditorium if they are with their own parent.  Entering and exiting the gym will only be permitted at time outs and between quarters.
