HIP info
To help the students to understand the HIP Card system. It is on the jh web page and listed in the handbook. Here are a few reminders. If you had an unexcused absence, you will not receive any card. Otherwise:
gold=3.75 or above, 0 points
silver-3.5 or above, 2 or less points
bronze- 3.0 or above, 4 or less points
maroon- 2.0 or above, 2 or less points
Please help your homeroom, especially the 7th graders. There have been a lot of grade changes. After Monday, no cards will change. So, please encourage the students to check the lists and notify the office if any changes have occurred that would change their card status. Thanks for all of your help.

JUNIOR HIGH DISMISSAL TIME
Beginning Monday, announcements will start promptly at 2:30 and conclude at 2:33. PLEASE make sure all students are listening and DO NOT dismiss students before the bell. I am changing the bell to ring at 2:33 and that will be our dismissal!!!
Please do not have students put chairs up until AFTER announcements are over!! With this procedure, 9th period will be 41 minutes just like all of the other period. When we have long announcements such as Track and other activities, we will read these at the beginning of homeroom. When announcements are short, we will start at 2:31. Again, dismissal will be with the bell.

Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams. Both teams
won the CBC tournament!

The Urbana 8th, grade football team lost to Graham 14-12. Sam
Nisowger and Shane Hollway each had a touchdown pass from Cameron Riegel. The team finished 5-3.
The total cost for the Washington Trip May 13-18, 2012 is $475. The second payment of $120 is due by November 18th. The last payment of $125 will be due
February 3rd. If for
any reason a student cannot go on the trip a refund may be requested prior to the refund cut off date
by sending a letter to the office requesting a refund and noting the amount
paid. Refund requests must be made
before March 23rd, 2012. Requests made after this date will not

SPARKY PAINTINGS
The Urbana Junior High Student Council is selling SPARKY
paintings for your sidewalk and/or driveway. Using a "Sparky"
template, student council members and an advisor will spray paint Sparky on
either of the above mentioned areas for $15 each painting. Colors to choose
from are maroon, silver or white. Design can be seen on Washington Avenue and

Student council will have a Sparky painting session this Friday, from 4:15 to 6. Your parents will need to pick you up at 6 p.m. sharp in the same parking lot. I need 4 Student Council members to help with painting- please see Mrs. Poppel to register. First four will be eligible. See you Friday!
Attention all band and choir students....please remember to bring your candle sales forms and candles in tomorrow. They must be turned in tomorrow.
Also...remember to arrange pick up for your fall fundraising items Thursday after school in the auditorium. Items must be picked up before 4:00pm.
