Girls basketball for today has been cancelled.

Boys basketball tryouts begin Friday. 7th Grade starts right after school and 8th grade starts at 4:15. If you have other questions, attend open gym this week on Monday or Thursday at 6:00 or see Coach Bowdle. Remember, you must have a physical on file in order to tryout.

The second Washington payment is past due.

Washington DC trip Update

WASHINGTON, DC

The total cost for the Washington Trip May 12-17, 2013 is $500.  The second payment of $125 is due by October 26^th. The third payment will be due December 3^rd.  If for any reason a student cannot go on the trip a refund may be requested prior to the refund cutoff date by sending a letter to the office requesting a refund and noting the amount paid.  Refund requests must be made before March 22^nd 2013.  Requests made after this date will not be honored.

Student Council will be sponsoring a Teen Night on October 27^th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the gym.  Student Council members will be selling presale tickets in the cafeteria during lunch the week before the dance.  Presale tickets will be $4.00.  Tickets at the door will be $5.00.

REMINDER TO VOTE ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 6^th

Please remember to vote on or before Tuesday, November 6^th.  You may vote in person prior to Election Day by going to The Champaign County Board of Elections at 1512 S. U.S. Highway 68, Suite L-100 Urbana, OH 43078 from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

BEGGAR’S NIGHT ACTIVITY

Community for Education, the levy support organization for Urbana City Schools, will have volunteers at North, South, and East Elementary School Buildings on Wednesday, October 31^st from 6:00 – 8:00 pm to distribute treats to children of the community.

Daily Announcements for Oct. 17th 2012

"Urbana is holding the OHSAA manditory meeting for parents of athletes participating in winter sports on Oct 23rd, 7:00pm in the HS Auditorium. Individual sport meetings will be held at the conclusion of the OHSAA meeting - roughly 7:25. If you've attended the Fall OHSAA meeting, you only need to attend the individual sport meetings"

Fall sports awards night will be Weds. Oct 24th at 6:30 in the jr high gym.

Office aides needed!  If you are interested in being an office aide for the second quarter there will be a signup sheet on the office window.  Thanks!

There will be a Sign-Up sheet outside of Mr. Moss’ room until Wednesday, October 17.  If you didn't play volleyball you will need a physical by Friday, October 26th. There will be girls basketball open Gym on Today from 6:00-8:00p.m.and Sunday, October 21st from 6:30-8:00 in the Junior High gym.  There will be a Parent Meeting: Tuesday 23, 2012 7:00p.m. in the Urbana High School Auditorium

Next week is Fall OGT week in the high school.  High school students will be testing in the cafeteria. That means we will not be going thru the cafeteria to get to band and choir.  Jr high students will need to use the doors by Mr. LaValley and Mr. McAndrew’s classrooms.  Please remember to be quiet and respectful.  High school students will be having class at that time.

Staff -
Some students have been given their BYOT cards.  Students are not allowed to bring in their technology unless pilot teachers have requested them to do so.  Pilot teachers should only make this request if they have a project-based activity, research, or other activity planned.  Thanks for your help with this matter.

Good Morning,
    Our food services are once again doing the Backpack Program this year starting this Friday, October 5th. Most of you already are familiar with the program but it gives students who might not otherwise have much to eat over the weekend a backpack of kid friendly food to get them through until school on Monday. Some students might have a temporary need, while othes might need the backpack on a regular basis. Students do not have to be recieving free/reduced lunches to be eligible. I have a list of students to start for this week but if you suspect any students who may benefit from this program, PLEASE let me know!

Every Wednesday I give food services a number of backpacks needed for the students in our building. On Friday, I will send a reminder to the students to stop in my office at the end of the day. On Monday morning, those students return their backpacks to me to be used again. Please let me know if you have any questions!! Thanks for all your help!!

All student forms are now due.  (Student names redacted) (4 JH students) still need to turn in either an Emergency Medical form and or a field trip form.  Turn your forms in now before you get another after school detention.  If you need another copy – stop by the office.
