Ohio Achievement Assessment Information 2010
Urbana Junior High School will begin the Ohio Achievement Assessments during the week of April 26th. All 7th and 8th grade students will be taking the OAAs (Ohio Achievement Assessments). Count down = 16 school days prior to testing.
The testing schedule is as follows:
7th Grade
Tuesday, April 27, 2010 – OAA Reading
Thursday, April 29, 2010 – OAA Math
8th Grade
Tuesday, April 27, 2010 – OAA Reading
Wednesday, April 28, 2010 – OAA Math
Thursday, April 29, 2010 – OAA Science
Parents may support our efforts by being positive about testing, encouraging students to get a good night sleep, encouraging students to practice for the test, and making sure students eat a nutritious breakfast each morning. Testing will take place each day during the morning hours (approximately 7:45 – 10:15 am), please see that students are in attendance, on time, and if necessary, schedule appointments during the afternoon. Students will receive a pre-testing snack, complements of our food service department.
Testing Incentives – In Order to Qualify for the Incentives, Students MUST:
1. Spend at least 1.5 hours completing each test including reviewing and rechecking answers.
2. Have NO unexcused absences during testing week.
3. Answer all multiple choice questions.
4. Follow directions for short answer and extended response questions. Provide the type of answer requested and answer all parts of the question using charts, tables, graphs, or written sentences as appropriate. Generally, short answer written responses, 2 point questions, should have a 3 sentence response or equivalent and extended responses, 4 point questions, should have a 6 sentence response or equivalent
