Please plan to attend conferences. If the following conference schedule does not work into the family schedule, please try to come to the slot and day that works best for you.

Note: If your student has Mrs. Morgan, Mr. Lammers, Mr. Sapp, Mr. Myers, Mrs. Padilla, or Mrs. Seigel, these teachers will only be available on Thursday from 4:05 – 6:15 pm. Mr. O’Kane will be available in Mr. LaValley’s classroom on Thursday from 4:05 – 6:15 pm. Mr. McAndrew, Mrs. Sasala, Mrs. Forson, Mr. LaValley, and Mrs. Stolly will be available on Tuesday from 5:20 – 6:30 pm and Thursday from 3:00 – 6:15 pm. Please note that it is optional as to whether or not you would like to meet with teachers and you may set up a separate conference at any time throughout the school year if necessary.

Additional Information: Mr. Stickel will be having information meetings about grading and assessment in the library. Questions about the new grading policy may be answered at these times.

PARENT NOTIFICATION SYSTEM TEST
The Urbana City School District is pleased to announce that as part of our safety plan we will continue to use the PreK-12 Notification System. In the event of a school delay, closing or other emergency, this system will be used to contact parents by phone in addition to our regular communications. When a message is sent, the caller ID will identify that the call is coming from your child’s school or our district office. Messages will be left on answering machines or in voicemail. If there is no answer, the system will try two more times to complete the call.

As a system check, there will be a test call sent to the home of each student in the district on Wednesday, November 10th at 7:00 p.m. The number dialed for each student will be what we currently have on file. If you do not receive a phone call, please contact your child’s school office.

Additional information about this system is being sent home with first quarter grade cards. If you have questions, please feel free to contact your child’s school office.

BOARD COFFEE HOUR ON NOVEMBER 9
The new District Grading and Assessment Guidelines will be the topic of discussion during the monthly Community Coffee Hour hosted by the Urbana School Board. Please join us at 7:00 p.m. on November 9 at the Depot Coffee House on Miami Street.

ATTENDANCE
Please call the school by 9:00 A.M., if your child will not be attending. We have voice mail, so you may leave a message 24 hours a day. If you do leave a message, PLEASE STATE THE REASON for the absence. A call with no reason given does not necessarily make the absence excused. If you do not have a phone, be sure to send a note with the student explaining the reason for the absence. If there is not a call or the student does not bring a note, he/she will be assigned ALC for 2 days as if he/she were truant from school if a note brought in the following morning, the ALC will be rescinded.
