DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR MAY 2nd 2011

The student council is holding a dance this Friday the 6th. from 6 to 8:30.

The Urbana Boys Track Team won the BOSS Invitational with 97.5 points. Winning for Urbana was Austin Curtis in the Long Jump(16' 5.5") and the 400m Relay Team of Jaymen Neff-Strickland, Jean Paul Soto, Sam Niswonger, Cody Grim (49.3 New Meet Record). Also placing were Nathan Mays, 4th in High Jump and 3rd in the 400M Dash, Caleb Honore, 6th in High Jump, Sam Niswonger, 6th in Long Jump, Ethan Edwards, 4th in Pole Vault, Jaymen Neff-Strickland, 2nd in 110M Hurdles and 200M Hurdles, Kristoffer Hamilton, 3rd in 110 Hurdles, Jean Paul Soto, 2nd in the 100M Dash and 5th in the 200M Dash, Cody Grim, 3rd in the 100M Dash and 2nd in the 200M Dash, Austin Curtis, 2nd in the 400M Dash. the 800M Relay team of Honore, Niswonger, Chris Ethridge, Jack Harris took 5th, the 1600M Relay team of Nathan Mays, Ethan Edwards, Austin Curtis andKristoffer Hamilton placed 3rd.

The girls team brought home the second place trophy with 76.33 points. Winning for Urbana was Payton Moore in the 100M Hurdles(17.73) and 200M Hurdles(32.33 New Meet Record) and the 1600M Relay team of Mckenzie ellis, Payton Moore, Aubrey Norris, Katie Weinert) Also placingg were Teya Buckney, 6th in the Shot Put, Destiny Andrews, 4th in the Discus, Landre Neer, 5th in Discus, Tori Quesenberry, 3rd in Long Jump, Annie Tullis, 6th in Long Jump, Katie Weinert, 3rd in Pole Vault, Brookelynn Russell, 4th in Pole Vault, Morgan Hamilton, 2nd in 100M Hurdles and 6th in 200M Hurdles, Val Batova, 6th in the 100M Dash. The 400M Relay team of Batova, Ellis, Hamilton and Quesenberry took 3rd and the 800M Relay team of Curnutte, Ellis, Mady Lanning and Quesenberry took second.

Payton Moore was named Female MVP of the meet.

GIRL'S BASKETBALL PLAYERS---IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO PLAY BASKETBALL NEXT YEAR AND PLANNING TO ATTEND SUMMER CAMPS, YOU NEED TO SEE COACH MOSS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Any 8th grade student interested in participating in Summer PE needs to stop by the office and pick up an application from Mrs. Karnehm. Completed registration and payment is due to Mrs. Karnehm no later than May 6th!!! Or until all spots for the class are filled. (4/11 – 5/5)
