Daily Announcements from Thursday

Congrats to the 8th graders for reaching their goal of 137,000 Study Island questions. Now it's your turn 7th graders.

HIP card holders – you must check the trip list and verify that you are going on the correct trip.  If your name is not on the list, it is up to you to get this corrected. Today is the last day for changes, after that it will be too late!

ATTENTION 2010-2011 HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADERS . . . UNIFORM FITTINGS HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY APRIL 27 IN MRS. FORSON'S ROOM IN THE JH STARTING AT 2:30.  A $100 DEPOSIT IS DUE ON TUESDAY MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO URBANA CITY SCHOOLS-NO CASH

Honor society is selling 1.00 cards in the cafeteria for Relay for Life. Show your support for a very worthy program.

Jr High cheerleading tryouts will be April 26, 27 and 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Informational packets are available in the office.

8th graders going to Washington, DC:  If you have not turned in your Washington DC paperwork, you need to get it to the office by this Friday.   If your paperwork is not turned in you may lose your spot!


There is a mandatory boys soccer meeting this Friday in the high school cafeteria for all students who are interested in playing high school soccer next year.  The meeting will be at 3:00 and will last around a half an hour.  It will be followed by an hour long lifting session and an hour long cross training session.  Students who can’t attend need to contact Coach Wells prior to Friday’s meeting.

TRACK RESULTS
The Urbana Junior High School girls track team won a home quad meet with 110 points. Winning for Urbana was latasha Hines in the 100 Meter dash(14.14, Sara Trenor in the 800(2:58) and the Pole Vault(6' 0"), Becca Poppel in the 100 meter hurdles(17.42) and the 200 Meter Hurdles(31.69), the 800 meter Relay(2:01.98) team of Hines, Kwyncie Purtee, Tori Quesenberry and Tessa Mcmanamay, the 400 meter Relay team(56.62) of Hines, Purtee, Mcmanamay, Payton Moore, the 1600 Meter Relay team(4:56.29) of Michelle Hendricks, Purtee, Mcmanamay, Katelynn Grigg, Tori Quesenberry in the Long Jump(13' 1"). Placing second was Tori Quesenberry in the 200, Braxton Rogan in the 400payton Moore in the 100 and 200 hurdles, Becca Poppel in the High Jump, Brookelynn Russell in the Pole Vault, Erika Michael in the shot and disc. In third place was Katelyn Grigg in the 400, Destiny Andrews in the shot and Landre Neer in the Discus. In Fourth was Sam Byers in the 200, Michelle Hendricks in the 400, Aubrey Norris in the 100 Hurdles, Katelyn Grigg in the High Jump, Dejah Andrews in the shot and disc.

The boys also won with 129.5 points. Winning for Urbana was Michael Laase in the 100 meter dash(13.27), Dillon Knueven in the 200(26.75) and the High Jump(5' 8"), Drake Frost n the 400(1:02.06) and Pole vault( 8' 0"), Caleb Rogan in the 1600(5:42.11) and 800(2:32.86), Jaymen Neff-Strickland in the 200 Hurdles(19.07) and 200 Hurdles(30.67), The 400 Meter Relay Team(52.42) of Frost, Neff-Stricland, Laase and Jean Paul Soto, the 800 Meter Relay team(1:50.17 of Knueven, Aaron Reeves, Nathan Mays, and Soto, the 1600 meter Relay team of Tanner Nichols, Austin norris, Eli deNijs, Ethan Edwards, Tanner Nichols in the Shot. Placing second was Aaron Reeves in the 200, Kristoffer Hamilton in the 100 and 200 Hurdles, Nathan Mays in the High Jump, Colin Riley in the Pole Vault, caleb rogan in the Long Jump, Tanner nichols in the Disc. In thrd was Gunnar Lanning in the Discus and Shot Put,Jean Paul Soto in the 100, Kristoffer Hamilton in the 400, Eli deNijs in the Pole vault. In fourth was Blake Hildreth in the 200 Hurdles, Nathan Mays in the 100 Hurdles, Charles Sidders in the 800 and 1600. 

Today’s HIP winners are:  Lauren Beaupre, Bennie Stacy, Alyssa Lyburtus and Meredith Hiltibran.  Please come to the office for your prize.
